The Mitchell 31 MKIII, developed in 1993, uses the the proven MKII hull but has the wheelhouse extended aft 3ft (0.91m) to provide more internal space.

There is a four-seater L-shaped settee on a raised plinth which provides excellent views through the side windows. Additional standing is available behind the helm position to port. Headroom is a generous 6ft 5ins (1.96m).

The helm position is in keeping with the Mitchell’s workboat roots, offering a vertical wheel and a sloping instrument panel with the single-lever Morse control to starboard.

Externally, the Mitchell has a rugged ‘official’ look. The side and foredecks have generous areas of grippy Treadmaster.
